Nous avons déjà évoqué Publons (1 avril 2015), créé par des néozélandais, et au 21 novembre, il y a 75 français inscrits. Sur le site, de nombreux conseils pour écrire des reviews, et vous pouvons entrer vos publications, et vos avis de lecture d'articles. Facile d'utilisation, vous pouvez entrer avec votre numéro ORCID. Les utilisateurs sont américains (21 %), suivis par les italiens (9 %). Les utilisateurs 
peuvent mettre ainsi leur activité de reviewer sur les CVs, avec des crédits. Des revues, par exemple GigaScience, informent leurs reviewers (voir ci-contre).
Publons sollicite les chercheurs, par des emails du type de celui-ci :

I’m the cofounder of Publons, a free service that gives peer reviewers credit for all the peer review work they do for journals. I’m emailing you today because peer review is too slow and I want your help in speeding it up.
It’s a simple idea — the average researcher is more willing to peer review when they are given credit for their contribution. Publons provides that credit in a format that can be shown to employers and funders etc as proof of the reviewer’s contributions to science. The 35,000 reviewers that are getting credit on Publons already have lead Wiley and Sage (two of the five biggest journal publishers) to start giving some their reviewers credit, but there’s still a long way to go.
The more people that show they want to get credit for their reviews on Publons, the more publishers will need to follow suit and start rewarding peer reviewers. Early results have already shown this to have a real effect on the speed of the peer review process.
