Rares sont les cas cliniques rétractés de la littérature, mais cela vient d'arriver en octobre 2010 sous un motif sans explications satisfaisantes. Voici le texte intégral de la rétractation : "BioMed Central is publishing a retraction of this article because the article was published in error. The case report contained erroneous details of the patient's presentation and not all original authors agreed to publish. SP had no involvement whatsoever with this article and was never consulted prior to its publication. BioMed Central apologize to the readers for the error, and to the authors for any inconvenience caused." (note : SP est le dernier auteur).
Cette rétractation est publiée plus de 2 ans après l'article, et sous la responsabilité du journal !!! Il s'agit d'un cas publié par des anglais dans un journal du groupe BioMed Central, Journal of Medical Case Reports, dont le titre est : "A novel observation of pubic osteomyelitis due to Steptococcus viridans after dental extraction: a case report".
